Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park was founded in 1985 by the late Jack O’Meara and artistic director Kathryn Huey O’Meara McGill.
The mission of Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park is to produce bold, re-imagined, entertaining and accessible interpretations of Shakespeare and the classics. We are committed to promoting the highest level of artistic excellence, to cultivating the widest possible audience and to contributing to the economic and cultural growth of our community, state and region through the professional theatre experience and educational outreach programs.
Our Vision To become a fully professional regional theatre with a national reputation for excellence, while creating an artistic home for professional theatre artists that supports emerging actors and attracts the best artistic staff.

Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park, Inc. employs two full time employees year round. During the summer season, over 120 seasonal theatre artists are employed through union and non-union contracts. Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park currently performs in two main locations in Oklahoma City: the Myriad Botanical Gardens Water Stage, Shakespeare on Paseo at 2920 Paseo, OKC, 73103. The Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park administration office and theatre space is located at 2920 Paseo, OKC, OK 73103 in the heart of The Paseo Arts District.
